An efit of a man police want to speak to after a teenager was assaulted in Spencers Wood

A TEENAGER was sexually assaulted in Spencers Wood while walking through a field.

Thames Valley Police has issued an efit of a man they want to speak to following the incident which took place around 7.30pm on Tuesday, April 10.

The girl was grabbed from behind while walking on a footpath through the field off Hyde End Lane, directly opposite the junction of Ryeish Lane. He assaulted her and then sexually assaulted her over her clothing.

The victim managed to break free and she ran away.

The man police would like to speak to is Asian, in his late thirties to early forties, approximately 5ft 7ins to 5ft 8ins, of large build and had a round face.

He had short dark-coloured hair which had some grey, stubble on his face and had a cut on his face between his lip and nose.

He was wearing a light grey plain hooded top, matching tracksuit trousers and black trainers.

Following the attack, the victim attended the Royal Berkshire Hospital and has since been discharged.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Clare Hickman, of the Investigation Hub based at Loddon Valley, said: “Detectives are working to identify and locate the offender. I would like to speak to anyone who noticed anyone matching the description of the man in the area at around the time of the offence.

“I would particularly like to speak to anyone who recognises the person depicted in the E-Fit image. If you have any details which could assist with our enquiries, please contact police.”
