ORGANISERS are getting ready for Twyford Together’s annual Charity 5K and Fun Run.

The community get-together offers races for all ages, novelty categories, prizes, seasonal stalls, activities and entertainment.

The event starts with a toddler dash, and ends with all the children cheering their parents, neighbours and older siblings as they complete the 5k route.

Back by popular demand, is the Fastest Street competition, where the fastest cumulative time for three runners wins.

Fastest Business/Club/Society/Charity is a competition for the fastest cumulative time for two runners.

And this year, there is even a prize to be won, just for taking part .

Twyford’s new boutique café, The Orangery, is giving away a chocolate platter experience for four, to one lucky 5K runner.

The winner will be drawn at random during the prizegiving, from entries received in advance online.

There will also be a random runner winner in all of the children’s races.

Those not running or waiting for their race can enjoy a selection of seasonal, eco-friendly and sporty stalls, as well as activities and refreshments.

Stalls include: Bag a Flowerpot, Book Swap, Pumpkin Ring Toss, Pumpkin Races, Face Painting, and Biscuit Decorating.

People can also enjoy Tennis Activities, Footie Fun, Shredquarters, Usbourne Books, Jo Winterton Yoga, Free Bike Fixing – pre-booking essential, and Maya’s Refillables.

Refreshments are available from: Scouts’ Breakfast BBQ, Cafe2U, for teas, coffees, and homemade cakes, and cyclists can also pedal themselves a drink on My Journey Wokingham’s Smoothie Making Bike, Pedalicious.

Saxcelerate will provide live jazz, rock and pop music.

The event is organised by Twyford Together in association with Barnes Fitness and is sponsored by The Shredquarters.

It takes place at The Piggott School, Twyford on Sunday, October 8, with the first race starting at 10am.

Funds raised will go to Twyford Charities Together, to be distributed to local good causes.

For up to date information about all the races, and to register in advance, visit: www.twyfordtogether.org and search for Charity 5K and Fun Run.
