Rachel Bishop-Firth, Liberal Democrat
Rachel is an active community member. She started the St Paul’s Residents’ Association and is a School Governor.
She’s been campaigning to get the unpopular temporary rail bridge at Tanhouse Crossing replaced by a permanent, accessible bridge and to tackle antisocial behaviour and litter in the local area.
Rachel will be standing to join Councillor Imogen Shepherd-Dubey on the council to represent Emmbrook residents in the May elections.
Brent Lees, Labour
Brent is a 56-year-old father of four children, aged between 25 and 15. The youngest two have attended local schools.
Originally from Manchester, Brent has lived in Wokingham for almost 20 years. Brent has been employed in the IT industry for 37 years.
“I’m passionate about social justice and fairness for all. I’m a long standing member of Amnesty International.
I’m concerned about the raw deal offered to our young. From the expense of further education (imposed by a generation that had free education!), to the dearth of affordable housing, or social housing alternatives.
“There are so many challenges to this generation that my generation never had to suffer.”

My wife, two sons and I came to Wokingham in 1980.
My work was involved IT projects. The knowledge gained in my role has helped in managing large projects and management of regeneration.
Hobbies have revolved around working with the Winter Carnival of which l am now Chairman, golf, cycling and previously in Scouting locally and am still a member of the Emmbrook Village Hall committee.
I joined the Town Council in 2003, Leader there for 7 years becoming Mayor in 2015.
I joined the Borough Council, in 2004 and for the past five and a half years have been a key member of the Regeneration team building a sustainable quality town fit for the next 50 years. At all times listening to and working to improve the lives of the residents of Emmbrook.
Regeneration brings much benefit to the Town and Borough and l am seeking support to allow me to finish the work l started in 2014.
