I live in Wokingham with my wife and two children, who attend local schools.
I work as a senior engineer in Winnersh and I am active in the community.
I attend council meetings, consultation events, report local issues and take part in community action such as regular litter picking.
I also attend the Norreys and Wescott NAG (Neighbourhood Action Group) which meets with local councillors and police liaison officers.
Maria Gee, Liberal Democrat
Maria has lived in the borough for over 30 years.
She is a chartered accountant who teaches accounting and finance in higher education.
She says “I want to be elected to use my skills to make sure the council’s finances are well-run and residents can understand them!”

Julian McGhee-Sumner, Conservatives
Julian McGhee-Sumner has lived in Wescott since the age of 9 and was educated at St. Crispin’s School.
He has spent the last 20 years working in the finance / insurance industry advising national and multinational companies.
He has served as a Wescott Borough Councillor for the past 12 years and last December was appointed Council Leader.
He is passionate about keeping Wokingham one of the best places to live in the country and recently made a pledge to write to all residents after the election asking if they feel our housing numbers are too high?
He wants to see more affordable homes and a town where all children can grow up in a safe, secure and vibrant community.
Julian believes that everyone has ideas on how to improve our community and he looks forward to meeting as many residents as possible to discuss their ideas before and after the election on May 2.
