For an oasis of calm, look no further than Twyford.
The Little Yoga Studio and Ola Coffee Co is a place of tranquility.
“When people walk through the door I want them to feel they’ve come home,” said founder and teacher Stacey Collings.
“I want their shoulders to relax, and for them to feel inspired by the decor, the atmosphere and the peace they find here.”
Upstairs at The Little Yoga Studio, you’ll find a bright, welcoming space offering yoga for all levels — from complete beginners to experienced practitioners. The varied schedule includes Vinyasa Flow, Yin, Mandala, Rocket, Ashtanga, Yoga Nidra, Sound Baths, Guided Meditation and Mum & Baby Yoga.
Pilates classes in the studio include: Barre, Matt Pilates, Stretch, Jumpboard, Tower, Strength and Mobility,Core Conditioning and, since the installation of specialist equipment in January this year, Pilates Reformer.
Downstairs, there’s a fully equipped Reformer Pilates studio with small-group classes designed to build strength, mobility and confidence. Classes include Reformer, Barre, Tower, Jumpboard, Stretch and Core Conditioning — perfect whether you’re new to Pilates or looking to deepen your practice.
“There are lots of different yoga styles in London, where I was teaching before,” said Stacey, “And I was determined to create a studio base here, offering a wide range of classes from the best tutors in Berkshire.”
The studio’s mantra is Ground, Gather and Grow. “It’s about connecting with your body and emotions, feeling part of a community, and about being curious,” she explained.
“I just love that The Little Yoga Studio is changing people’s lives.
“One woman going through a difficult life event told me that coming here is helping her to relax, feel at ease, and meet other people.”
With food for the mind and body upstairs, culinary delights await the stomach and tastebuds in the cafe below.
Earlier this year, Ola Coffee Co was a national prize winner, receiving BRITA’s Grounds of Innovation award for coffee shops creating vibrant, buzzing hubs for their communities.
Run by Stacey and her husband Martin Collings, Ola serves a creative and mouth-watering menu of vegetarian and vegan brunch and lunch dishes, made entirely from fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
“It’s something that we both dreamt up and that we do together,” said Stacey.
“We wanted it to be somewhere people stay to enjoy good food and good company.”
The cafe’s sustainable and zero waste policy means ingredients are locally sourced whenever possible, and only reusable or edible cups are used.
Future plans include plant-based cooking classes and a supper club.
“Our chef Harj Ram has an absolute passion for food, and is constantly experimenting and having fun creating some really cool flavours,” said Stacey.
