A FILM directed by Matteo Garrone will show members of a film club the journey faced by two Senegalese teenagers as they try to travel to Europe in search of a better life.
Wokingham Film Society screens the movie, Io Capitano, in Wolof and French with English subtitles.
Believing opportunities await them, two young migrants leave Dakar on a trek faced with dangers, the beauty of the desert, the shock of detention centres in Libya, and the perils of the sea.
Their powerful story offers a deeply human perspective on the migrant crisis.
To see the screening, people should make their way to Wokingham’s Whitty Theatre, Luckley Road.
The event is on Thursday, October 24.
Doors open at 6.45pm, with the film starting at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £4 for members, and £6.50 for non-members.
