A SPARKLING Afternoon Tea at Sindlesham Court this weekend was attended by Wokingham Borough Council mayor Beth Rowlands, the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Berkshire Willie Hartley-Russell, and Ashley Harrison from Harrison Solicitors who sponsored the event.
Held by Berkshire MS Therapy Centre to celebrate its 40th anniversary, the event brought together around 90 people to enjoy afternoon tea and friendship.
Visitors received a glass of prosecco followed by sandwiches, scones and cream, cakes, tea and coffee.
Marketing and engagement officer at Berkshire MS Therapy Centre Claire Frew, said: “It was a really lovely afternoon.
“We don’t yet know how much the event raised, but it was very well attended, and it was good to see so many people enjoying themselves.
“People appreciated having a chance to chat with friends they hadn’t seen for some time, and we all enjoyed the lovely food.
“We were also delighted our three invited guests attended to made the celebrations even more special.”
The charity thanks sponsors Harrison Solicitors, their three guests of honour, and everyone who came along to support the charity.
They also thank Sindlesham Court for their catering services, which they say were very well received.
The Berkshire Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre offers in-person and online support for people living with the condition, and their families.
Physiotherapy, oxygen therapy, counselling and foot care are all available free of charge, with other services and therapies discounted.
The charity is keen to invite more people living with MS to take advantage of the services that they can offer.
The group receives no NHS support, and all its services are funded by donations and events such as the sparkling afternoon tea.
