Reading FC legend Dave Kitson has a new role having been appointed as manager at Maidenhead United FC Women.
He replaces Ed Jackson-Norris who departed Maidenhead last week and is expected to join Reading Women as their new boss.
The 45-year-old former Premier League striker will take charge of the side who play in the FA Women’s National League Division 1 South West
Kitson had two spells during his playing career with Reading and first joined the club in 2003 from Cambridge United.
He netted 54 goals in 135 league matches for the Royals and was a pivotal part of the team who won 106 points in the 2005/06 season as the club earned promotion to the top flight for the first time in its history.
Having joined Stoke City from Reading for around £5.5million, Kitson returned to the club on a short term loan deal in 2009 and he netted two goals in 10 appearances.
Having joined Maidenhead as the new women’s manager, Kitson said: “I am delighted to be here. I am looking forward to meeting the players and helping them in their development.”
