Wokingham borough council is seeking views on an updated Basic Conditions Statement relating to the Sonning Neighbourhood Plan.
A six week consultation on the submitted plan took place from Monday, February 2, until Monday, March 16.
Andrew Ashcroft MRTPI has now been appointed to undertake the examination of the plan, which is currently underway. He will consider all comments received during the consultation, as well as the plan and supporting documents, and will determine whether the plan meets a set of prescribed ‘basic conditions’ and other legal requirements.
Further information on the ‘basic conditions’ can be found in the National Planning Practice Guidance.
New legislation came into force on March 25 which has made updates to the ‘basic conditions’ that neighbourhood plans are required to meet.
The examiner has recommended that the Basic Conditions Statement, a document which is required to support Neighbourhood Plans, is updated and a targeted consultation is held on its updated content.
Comments are invited from April 15 until April 29.
The council said this is not an opportunity to provide further comments on the Plan itself.
Further information about the Sonning Neighbourhood Plan can be found on the neighbourhood planning webpage.
