The brand-new Wokingham Chilli Hop Cider Festival is set to bring a sizzling weekend of flavour,entertainment and family-friendly fun to Elms Field Wokingham from May 15 until May 17.
Hosted by Zoom Events, the festival will feature a live music stage including popular tribute bands, street foods, real ale and cider bars, artisan chilli products and children’s entertainment.
Kicking off the festival, Friday offers free entry during the day, giving visitors the chance to explore the festival market stalls, enjoy a leisurely lunch with friends from a wide selection of street food vendors and soak up live music in a relaxed atmosphere. The evening then turns up the laughs with a ticketed comedy night with celebrity comedian, Paul Tonkinson, running from 7.00pm until 9.00pm.
On Saturday, the festival turns up the heat with the first of two themed days (admission ticket required). Red Hot Chilli Pepper Day will feature a lively programme of live music and tribute acts. The highlight of the day will be a headline performance from The Red Hot Chili Peppers Experience on the main stage.
Visitors can also enjoy special guest DJs, a family games area, children’s entertainment, and crowd-pleasing people-versus-food competitions.
Sunday brings a change of pace with Scrumpy and Western Day, celebrating cider culture and countryside fun. Festival goers can embrace the theme with line dancing, family competitions, and a live music stage filled with farmyard-inspired classics.
The festival remains firmly family-focused, with free entry for children aged 16 and under all weekend (free tickets must still be booked in advance via the ticket shop to manage numbers).
