A SHEEP which was rescued from a stretch of water by fire crews is trying to find his rightful owner.

Crews from Wokingham Road, Caversham and Whitley Wood Fire Stations were called out to the stranded sheep at 3.19pm on Sunday (26). He had been spotted in the water just off Rose Kiln Lane in Reading, and the police called the fire and rescue service for help.

The water rescue unit accompanied the crews, who were able to get the sheep, who has now been called Minty, to safety.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue (RBFRS) are now trying to locate the sheep’s owner while he is kept safe at Caversham Road’s drill tower.

Minty’s ID number is UK 07/45274/02189.

If you are the owner or know who the sheep belongs to, please call 0118 938 4010 or 0118 938 4900.
