Hello and welcome to the 145th instalment of Every Step Counts. This column has been going since September 2016 and WOW … have we been on a serious ride or what?

We have been through three Christmasses together.

We have talked about everything from hydration to Neuro Linguistic Programming or NLP as it is known.

We have shared various models that have been proven highly impacting with my clients in The Hub.

We have used client case studies to base our own outcomes moving forward.

To be honest, the journey has been nothing but amazing and if I went through everything we have covered we would need to book a conference hall and book it for the week.

EVERY STEP COUNTS: Make the most of Christmas, it's such a special time of year

There are two things that I want to share with you today.

One is the Serenity Prayer which is a form of affirmation and one of my mental workouts and the second is one of the Mnemonics from The Hub which I want you to know.

But first let’s get you primed and let’s mix it up this week with some hard-hitting affirmations. These mantras or affirmations are just simple messages.

Repeated over-and-over, they can begin to worm their way into your mind and general psyche which then slowly changes both your thinking and your reality. Sometimes these sayings start as wishful thinking, but they often end up becoming the reality of your life.

Remember…what the brain can conceive the brain will achieve; it’s all about the LAW OF ATTRACTION baby.

Affirmations are not wishful thinking. They use the power of Neuroplasticity. Affirmations change thoughts of doubt and fear to thoughts of confidence and taking action. What we waiting for the n… repeat after me:

  • I believe in my skills and abilities.
  • I am a winner.
  • Everything will work out for me.
  • My strength is greater than any struggle.
  • I can do this.
  • I am who I want to be.
  • I am brave enough to climb any mountain.
  • Happiness is within my grasp.
  • The only person who can defeat me is myself.
  • My confidence knows no limits.
  • I am successful.

Here’s a quick tip, take out your phone and take a photo of the affirmations above. Set an alarm on your phone and set it to go off at 8am, noon, 4pm and 8pm. When the alarm goes off, load up the photo of affirmations and then repeat them either in your head or out loud. So simple yet so effective.

Now onto the Serenity prayer, what is the Serenity prayer and how should use it?

God, give me grace to accept with serenity the things that cannot be changed, courage to change the things which should be changed, and the wisdom to distinguish the one from the other. Living one day at a time, enjoying one moment at a time, accepting hardship as a pathway to peace, taking, as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it. Trusting that You will make all things right, if I surrender to Your will, so that I may be reasonably happy in this life, and supremely happy with You forever in the next. Amen.

Now you don’t need to be religious to use the sentences above – to be honest I am not the most religious guy in the world, but I love certain principles from the prayer.

Here are my take home points for you today:

  • Accept things that can not be changed and move on.
  • Have courage to face things head on that need your attention.
  • Live every day and live every day with all the energy at your disposal.
  • Hardship is just something that life offers to you, how you take that hardship is up to you.
  • Trust yourself … YOU will deliver.
  • Be HAPPY … what more could you want in life?

Simple yet effective and highly mouldable for your own tastes and preferences.

Next on my list for article number 145 … A.S.K. Yes, the ASK principle and why I love it.

The A.S.K principle stands for ALWAYS SEEK KNOWLEDGE. I repeat this most days to my clients. Pick my brain, ask me questions, query certain principles and dig deeper. The further you deep you more unearth and the more unearth, the hungrier you will get for more.

It’s the RIPPLE effect in its purest form.

For the next week or so I would love for you contact me on FACEBOOK via my FUNdaMENTAL Coach page or by Instagram via my Chris Hunt – TheFundamentaCoach page.

I will be taking your questions and I will try and delve into them over the next few articles and address them directly.

You may have been reading this column for some time now so I am pretty sure we have been covering an incredible amount of content but there is always room for more.

  • What books do I recommend?
  • What brand of protein do I feel is the best?
  • What minute for minute exercise option is the best for burning calories?
  • Who would I recommend for a sports massage?
  • What gym is the best in Wokingham for atmosphere and training vibes?

The list is endless, but I want to hear from you ok? Remember:

ALWAYS SEEK KNOWLEDGE.

The answers you seek will surface when you ask the right questions.

What you do has far greater impact than what you say.

What are you going to seek today and what are you going to do today?

Happy Sunday, be awesome, be happy, be full of energy and be positive ?
