Police have made an arrest following reports of a group of men making threats in Bracknell.
Officers were called to Kelvin Gate at around 16:00 on Thursday after concerns were raised about individuals allegedly making threats. A large police presence, including armed officers, air support and dog units, was deployed to the area.
Searches were carried out across nearby locations, including the town centre and High Street, after a reported sighting of a bladed weapon. Several people were stopped and searched during the operation.
Thames Valley Police confirmed that one person has been arrested. No injuries were reported.
In a statement, the force said it takes all reports of knife crime “extremely seriously” and praised the swift response of officers, which it said helped to quickly contain the situation.
Police believe the incident to be isolated and said there is no wider risk to the public.
They also thanked members of the public for their assistance in reporting the incident and supporting officers at the scene.
