Wokingham has been ranked as one of the least violent areas in England and Wales.
Official crime data was analysed to show the borough is fourth, in terms of areas with the lowest violent crimes.
The data revealed that 156.8 violent crimes per 10,000 residents take place annually in Wokingham.
With just over 153 violent crimes per 10,000 residents, Richmond upon Thames took the top spot.
Despite having the fewest violent crimes per 10,000 residents, the London borough is still far from perfect as there were almost 3,000 violent-related offences in the last year.
With more than 760 crimes per 10,000 residents, Blackpool is the most violent area in England and Wales, followed by Middlesbrough and Thanet with 657.6 and 621.5 violent crimes per 10,000 people, respectively.
October saw the most violent crimes taking place nationally, whereas December saw the fewest.
Security experts at Get Licensed used government to find the annual number of violent crimes, and the percentage change in violent crimes between 2021/22 and 2022/23.
By dividing the number of violent crimes by each area’s population and multiplying tby 10,000, they calculated the number of violent crimes per 10,000 residents.
It also used UKCrimeStats to find the number of crimes committed per type per month.
