The first phase of a new cycle route linking Woodley precinct with Palmer Park is nearing completion, Wokingham Borough Council has said.
From Monday 27 July, road closures on Woodlands Avenue will move to a new section between the entrance to Bulmershe School and just east of Fairwater Drive.
The changes will allow contractors to complete the installation of a segregated cycle track along the northern side of Woodlands Avenue between the school and Woodley precinct.
The council said the works had been scheduled during the school summer holidays to reduce disruption to pupils, parents and other road users.
It apologised for any inconvenience caused while the project is completed.
The first phase of the scheme is expected to be finished by Monday 31 August.
Work will then move to the second phase on Church Road.
The current closure on Church Road remains in place between Crockhamwell Road and a point just west of Lytham Road.
The active travel route is intended to improve walking and cycling links between Woodley precinct and Palmer Park in Reading, providing a safer route for people travelling between the two areas.
