The Forest School in Winnersh is celebrating a record number of students achieving the highest GCSE grades this summer.
The school said 20% of students achieved Grades 7-9 in both English and maths, while almost 30% of all grades awarded across the school were between 7 and 9.
Headteacher Shirley Austin said the results represented some of the school’s strongest performance at the top end.
“This represents some of our strongest performance at the top end, and reflects our commitment to stretching and challenging our most able students,” she said.
The school highlighted particularly strong performances in Computer Science, French, Maths, Music, Business and Geography.
It said the majority of students achieved qualifications that would allow them to progress to their chosen pathways, with the average point score across GCSEs representing a strong pass of Grade 5 or above.
Among the individual successes, Zibo achieved 11 Grade 9s, while Aarav achieved 10 Grade 9s alongside an A in Additional Maths.
Reuben achieved Grades 9-6 in all of his subjects, including six Grade 9s.
Alex achieved Grades 9-8 in all subjects, with seven Grade 9s and four Grade 8s, while Samuel achieved Grades 9-7 across all subjects, including seven Grade 9s.
The school also highlighted students who narrowly missed or exceeded full marks in individual subjects.
Aarav and Zibo were within eight marks of full marks across all their French papers, while Alex significantly exceeded the grade boundary for a Grade 9 in Geography.
Haris was within one mark of full marks across both English Literature papers, while Connor exceeded the Grade 9 boundary in PE by 10 marks.
The school said some of the students had also combined their academic achievements with sporting success, with several being recognised by elite clubs and national teams.
Those included Manchester United, Nottingham Forest, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Reading, as well as clubs elsewhere in Europe.
Students also achieved strong results in additional language qualifications, with 100% of grades in Portuguese, Arabic and Cantonese awarded between 7 and 9.
The school said students had worked hard with the support of staff and their families to achieve their results.
Ms Austin said the results reflected the determination and resilience shown by the Year 11 cohort.
Ming Zang, Director of Education for Wokingham, visited the school to join students, families and staff in celebrating the results.
He congratulated the students and discussed their plans to continue their studies at The Forest School’s sixth form.
