AN APPEAL for witnesses has been launched after a man was attacked on a busy main route in and out of Reading town centre.
The incident happened around 10am on Monday, February 18, on the Kings Road – used by the Lion and Orange bus routes and Courtney Buses, as well as being a main road out of Reading towards the A329, Earley and Woodley.
The victim, a 44-year-old man, was approached from behind by two men near to Reading College outside The Pinnacle.
Thames Valley Police said that they knocked him to the ground and then kicked him a number of times before leaving the scene towards Rupert Street.

The victim suffered a deep cut to his face and back of his head.
He was treated at the Royal Berkshire Hospital and has since been discharged.
The two offenders are described as white, in their twenties and both wearing dark clothing.
Investigating officer PC Paul Mulvey of the Reading Investigation Hub, said: “This was an unprovoked attack on a man in broad daylight.
“We believe that there could be a number of witnesses who would be able to help officers with this investigation and would ask that if you saw what happened to get in touch.
