Police were called to a Bracknell Sunday League football match at Cantley Park on Sunday morning.
The Premier Division match between Freeman Royals and Raglan was in the 62nd minute when violence erupted on the touchline.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police told Wokingham Today: “We received a report of an assault in Cantley Park at around 11.40am yesterday (Sunday).
“Officers attended the incident and an investigation is ongoing.
“A man in his thirties required hospital treatment for his injuries but has since been discharged.
“Anyone with information should call 101, quoting reference 43240054897.”
The match was eventually completed, with Raglan winning 8-1.
