The identity of a person responsible for a spate of stickers being stuck to properties in Wokingham town centre is a step closer to being resolved.
CCTV images have revealed the person is likely a male, possibly using a walker or with a pushchair. They were recorded early last Friday (June 12) leaving Costa coffee shop, attaching a sticker to the former Barclays bank building in Market Place, then entering The Rose Inn for a short time before leaving and capturing a photograph, then returning to The Rose.
Images have appeared around the town in the last few weeks, including references to “underpants”, “undertaker”, “toilet”, “free umbrellas at the town hall”, and a new “Ann Summers shop” coming to town.
“Smile, it’s good for your soul” also appeared last week.
Empty buildings targeted also include the former Eton Travel business in Denmark Street, and the former Co-op in Market Place.
A spokesperson for Wokingham town council explained how all similar incidents will see any offending stickers removed immediately they are sighted and reported.
