Plans have been submitted to Wokingham borough council for the delivery of the link road that will connect the existing Thames Valley Science Park (TVSP) and the forthcoming Loddon Valley Garden Village (LVGV).
Agents for the landowners, the University of Reading, are seeking full planning permission for the construction of a Spine Road linking Cutbush Lane East through Thames Valley Science Park (as promoted under Local Plan Update Policy SS13).
Plans said: “This would connect to the wider infrastructure for Loddon Valley Garden Village.
“The application includes full details of access points into the promoted Science Park land. In addition, full details of a new foul water pumping station together with access to the proposed facility.
“The application includes landscaping, surface water attenuation and other associated works.
The proposed Link Road is, in part, an extension of the existing spine road through the TVSP, extended to provide an access road to the Natural History Museum building.
The site is located to the east of Cutbush Lane East, on the southern edge of the TVSP.
It incorporates an area of agricultural land to the north, west and east of New Covert, a woodland to the east of the TVSP.
The TVSP lies to the immediate northwest and beyond that is the M4 Motorway and the residential area of Earley.
Further to the west is the settlement of Shinfield
The statutory consultation on the plans remains open until July 13.
