The latest register of financial interests for members of parliament, published last week, showed Wokingham MP Sir John Redwood is earning £48,222 per quarter as a global strategist for investment firm Charles Stanley.
The report noted Sir John’s duties are to provide three written commentaries every week on global markets and economies excluding the UK, and making oral and written presentations at investment meetings.
The report noted that he expects this work to involve a commitment of 50 hours a month.
He is also a member of the advisory board of EPIC Private Equity, where his three hour per quarter commitment is rewarded by payment of £5,000 per year.
His interests also include an unpaid role as a visiting professor to Middlesex University Business School, where he lectures on financial subjects related to his previous career.
