MORE DETAILS have emerged over the suspected arson in east Wokingham at the weekend.
As we reported yesterday, police established a scene watch at a home on William Heelas Way following the fire on Saturday, December 9.
They are investigating the cause of the blaze.
A spokesperson for Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service said they were called to the home at 1.08pm, and crews from four stations attended: Wokingham Road, Wokingham, Ascot and Theale, alongside two officers.
“Upon arrival, crews discovered a fire on the first floor of a three-storey building,” the spokesperson said.
“Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used two hose reels to extinguish the fire.
“One person was placed in the care of South Central Ambulance Service.”
Crews were at the scene for approximately two hours and 10 minutes before handing over to Thames Valley Police.
And a police spokesperson said: “At around 1.17pm on Saturday, December 9, we received reports of an arson on William Heelas Way.
“Officers attended alongside Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service and South Central Ambulance Service.
“We are currently investigating the circumstances of the incident.
