2022 Candidates
Dave Edmonds, Conservative
I have lived and worked locally all my life. After attending Reading School, I studied at Reading University.
I currently run my own accountancy business which is based in Shinfield South. I set up my business because I wanted to help local businesses and local people manage their finances and build a prosperous future for themselves and their families.
When Covid struck I provided free support to businesses who were struggling and needed to put staff on furlough to make sure vulnerable families were looked after. Free help and support continue to be offered to anyone who needs assistance managing their finances.
I also volunteer as a Governor at a local primary school and am Regional Vice Chairman for the British Judo Association. For over 15 years I have managed a community Judo program that gives local children the opportunity to take part in a healthy activity which promotes respect and friendship.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my wife Laura and young son Charlie along with our 3 terriers.
I am passionate about making our community the best possible place to live, work and raise a family. If elected, I can guarantee to stand up for Shinfield South and ensure we get the support and services our community needs.

I am local – I live in 3 Mile Cross. My priority is to challenge Conservative plans to build 15,000 houses locally. I want to see improvements in air quality and want more trees planted in Shinfield. I enjoy cycling and want to see better cycling routes locally. I work as a computer software engineer and was formerly in the RAF.
