A WOOSEHILL supermarket is hoping to help would be lovers get wooed with romance this Valentine’s Day by proving that the numbers add up.
Relationship expert Sam Owen has teamed up with Morrisons in a bid to help romantics figure out just what to buy their loved one for Valentine’s Day.
It is doing this with the help of a Love Calculator, which is to be offered to all shoppers between Sunday and next Wednesday, the big day itself.
The fun gadget has more than 40 decision-tree questions covering relationship status, current romance levels and partner personality traits in order to help guide people to the right gift.
The store said that, as an example, a first-time Valentine who wants to show their funny side is directed to heart-shaped crumpets while a married couple who have lived together for a few years are guided towards oysters to get them in the mood for romance.
The calculator was devised after the store’s research revealed that more than a third of customers said that Valentine’s Day is the most ‘difficult’ buying occasion and almost a quarter had bought the ‘wrong’ gift in the past.
Katie Bence, the Morrisons Woosehill store manager, said: “Choosing the right gift for Valentine’s Day can be difficult and we want to take the stress out of the occasion by helping our shoppers find the perfectly-judged gift.
“The Love Calculator aims to make our customers’ lives just that little bit easier.”
And Sam Owen, said that their invention could save a lot of pain in the run-up to surprising your Valentine.
He said: “Whatever stage of your relationship, Valentine’s Day is always a tricky buying occasion with people often only a purchase away from romantic perfection or disaster.
“I hope the calculator can help all the hopeless romantics channel their thoughts and make the right gift decisions, so this Valentine’s Day is a love-ly one for all involved.”
