Wokingham’s final act of remembrance this year took place on Thursday afternoon, when the wreathes that were laid at All Saints Church were returned to the war memorial in Wokingham town hall.
For the first time, the wreathes formed part of the town’s Remembrance Parade in what was intended to be a more public show of respect for those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
They were returned to the war memorial on November 14, having been collected by undertakers AB Walker and slowly driven through the town in a hearse.
Wokingham town mayor, Cllr Rob Comber, received the wreathes along with other town hall officials, and members of the Wokingham army cadets.
