A BOROUGH branch of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) meets monthly for rambles at a Wokingham beauty spot.
The RSPB Wokingham and Bracknell Local Group holds Date With Nature walks at Dinton Pastures, and invites people to join them for a stroll around the lakes.
People of all ages and birding experience are welcomed, with guides on hand to help identify bird species and other wildlife spotted during walks.
“July will offer an opportunity to see swallows, house martins, sand martins and swifts, along with several species of butterfly,” said group leader Alan Moore.
“Most people don’t realise that there are more than 130 local RSPB adult and youth groups across the UK.
“People can get involved in lots of ways, whether fundraising to help with bird conservation, or joining bird walks like ours to help with health and wellbeing.”
The Group meets at the main car park at Dinton Pastures Country Park on the first Saturday of every month.
They leave at 9am, and return to the car park at around 12.30pm, having walked round the main lakes and visited the bird watching hides.
Donations of £2 per person go to the work of the RSPB.
The group’s next walk will take place on Saturday, July 1.
The same afternoon, they will run a stand at Finchampstead Fete, with merchandise and information.
The fair will take place at Finchampstead Memorial Field, on Saturday, July 1, from 1pm to 4pm.
