A WOKINGHAM charity that supports young people with additional needs to join mainstream activities is hosting a charity quiz night in Sindlesham.
Me2Club aims to tackle social isolation and loneliness of children unable to access mainstream leisure activities, helping youngsters aged five to 19 to take part with trained volunteer ‘buddies’.
Joining sports clubs, uniformed groups and drama classes, gives them a chance to build independence and vital life and social skills.
Parents of youngsters have said: “If Me2Club didn’t exist V would be more socially isolated, and would lose opportunities to do new things and see friends,” and, “Z has gained a huge amount from being a guide – all the Me2Club helpers have been outstanding.”
The charity’s fundraising quiz offers an evening of entertainment, with pre-quiz games, a bar, a raffle, and a pizza buffet all included in the ticket price.
People can join as an individual to be placed in a team, or as a group of eight ready teamed up.
The event will take place at Wokingham Cricket Club, Sindlesham, on Friday, October 25.
Doors open at 7pm, with the quiz beginning at 8pm.
Tickets cost £16.50.
