MARK Ashwell loves watching sport, playing sport, sponsoring sport and even referees rugby matches.
Now, the respected founder and owner of TradeMark Windows Doors and Conservatories, has teamed up with The Wokingham Paper to become the official sponsor of your favourite weekly sports section.
Along with TradeMark, your top sports team will bring all the best local reports, reviews and exclusives straight from the touchline to your armchair.
As well as making TradeMark the leading windows, doors and conservatory specialists in the south-east for the past 25 years, Mark is also well-known as the President of the Sumas.
And with the club now returned to its Lowther Road ground after a 20-year absence, Mark felt it was time to join our amazing pull-out, The Sports Paper.
“I read The Sports Paper every week because it covers a wide range of sports across the borough,” explained Mark.
“I love football, cricket and rugby where I regularly referee. But The Sports Paper also features sports such as ice hockey, bowls, badminton, athletics, wheelchair basketball, darts and so much more.
“It’s not just about the big teams and games. The Sports Paper includes school, community and amateur reports. I’m exhausted just reading it!”
Despite running a major business with 60 employees and thousands of satisfied customers, Mark still finds time to go running as well as his refereeing duties.
He says he has always valued sport as a way to relax from the stress and strains of business as well as keeping fit.
“It’s been well documented that playing a sport on a regular basis is good for your all-round health,” he adds.
“Sport unites communities, keeps you active and helps you overcome challenges. It’s great to see young people involved with sport and I’m full of admiration for those parents and volunteers who give up their time to run teams all year round in all kinds of weathers.
“I know they love to read reports about their teams in The Sports Paper and I am delighted to sponsor it for the next season.”
