A Wokingham school is celebrating the results of its most recent Ofsted inspection.
The inspectors praised high quality provision across all areas at Saint Sebastian’s Church of England Primary School.
Head of school Sarah Cohen said: “We are incredibly proud of this report, which captures the ambition, warmth and dedication that define our school.
“Our pupils shine every day and it is wonderful to see their enthusiasm and character recognised so clearly.”
Inspectors noted the school’s calm, orderly environment, and said its pupils feel safe and valued, behave well, and demonstrate positive attitudes to learning.
They also highlighted warm relationships between staff and pupils, and described the curriculum as ambitious and broad, with reading prioritised across the school to enable pupils to grow into confident readers.
Dawn Rossell, chair of governors, said: “The governing body is delighted with this report.
“It reflects the dedication, professionalism and compassion shown daily by our staff, and the vibrancy and resilience of our pupils.
“As governors, we see first-hand the commitment to continuous improvement, and this outcome is a testament to the whole school community.”
Early Years was highlighted as an area of particular strength, with children benefiting from highly knowledgeable staff, rich language development and well-designed learning opportunities.
Inspectors stated that children are ‘very well prepared for their next stage of education.’
Inclusive practice was also praised, with staff identifying pupil needs precisely to enable all children to participate fully in school life.
Personal development initiatives, including involvement in playground leadership, eco projects, creative arts, and sporting opportunities such as judo and multi-sports were also highlighted.
Hester Wooller, CEO of Keys Academy Trust, said: “We are absolutely delighted with the findings of this inspection.
“Saint Sebastian’s is a school where children flourish academically, socially and personally.
“The positive impact of the leadership, committed staff and supportive community are all evident in this excellent report.”
