MEMBERS of a self advocacy group for people with learning disabilities have played their part in raising money for charity.
The group, all from CLASP Wokingham, gathered to sing outside the town’s Waitrose supermarket.
They were there to raise money for UK charity Comic Relief.
Its Red Nose Day supports those in poverty both in the UK and around the world.
Unlike the weather, shoppers in the town were supportive of the singers.
Debs Morrison, CLASP CEO says: “It was such fun, if a very wet sing-out.
“There was such generosity from the passers by.”
The group’s musical event made £22.65.
CLASP meets regularly to help its members have their say about local services.
Members receive access to support, information, advice and signposting.
The group also delivers learning disability awareness training, and runs a campaigning group called Take Notice.
CLASP employs people with learning disabilities and offers voluntary opportunities.
