Winnersh is something of a stronghold for the Lib Dems, and Paul Fishwick will be looking to defend his seat.
Anthony Pollock is returning to Wokingham politics as a candidate for this ward, having represented Shinfield South until the 2019 elections. Labour and the Green party are also contesting this seat.

The candidates
Paul Fishwick, Lib Dem

I have lived in the area all my life and in Winnersh with my wife Lesley for over 17 years.
We have eight grandchildren, six of whom attend schools within Wokingham Borough.
I have been a Borough Councillor for four years and am currently the Executive member for active travel, transport and highways, a sector I have worked in for 43 years.
I have been an active member of Winnersh Parish Council for over six years, as chair for three years.
My hobby is climatology.
Stephen Lloyd, Green
Awaiting information from candidate.
Allan Murgungi, Labour

Allan lives in Winnersh with his young family. Allan is an IT networking professional.
He is particularly keen to see Wokingham Borough Council improve the way it deals with adoption of new estates. Residents on new estates are often let in limbo due to the delays in getting the roads, open spaces and other infrastructure adopted by the Council. Allan believes that as the residents of new estates are paying their Council Tax they should be treated much better by WBC.
With two children under three years old, Allan also takes a keen interest in the quantity and quality of local play and educational opportunities for children.
Anthony Pollock, Conservative

I am a Chartered Accountant, married with two grown-up children. I have lived locally since 1982 and attend Arborfield Church regularly.
Passionate about preserving and improving the environment to benefit current and future residents, I am committed to delivering the best possible council services, including getting the major decisions right such as the Local Plan Update.
This should be fair to all residents across the Borough, not disadvantaging one area over another.
I have raised my family in the area and have contributed to my community as a local councillor for many years. I have stood up for the issues and services for my community often against the view of the majority on the council.
I have believed in and have successfully represented my community and delivering for them. I have strongly opposed the issue of overdevelopment in the borough since 1991 and have twice successfully opposed housing development.
I oppose the Hall Farm development and that I am concerned that the Liberal Democrats are going soft on the issue.
With your support, I will stand up for Winnersh and work with councillors, the Council Leader and our local MP to make a real difference here.
