The ‘Wokingham’s Best Pub’ campaign, organised by Wokingham MP Clive Jones, is in full swing this week, with residents invited to vote for their favourite among the five locals through to the next round.
After the first round of voting, the top five pubs with the most votes were revealed as: The Two Poplars, The White Horse, The Ship Inn, The Roebuck and The Broad Street
Tavern.
On a sunny Friday, the Wokingham MP visited The Two Poplars’ bustling garden and newly renovated interior to meet landlord Jay Simpson.
After taking over the pub just over 11 months ago, the fantastic staff and brand-new
look have given it a new lease of life and solidified its place as a local staple.
