A Wokingham borough councillor who ran in three marathons in six weeks has raised more than £9,500 for the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust Charity.
Rohit Ahlawat, Conservative councillor for Hawkedon ward, took part in two full marathons and one half marathon to raise money for the hospital’s charity.
He completed the Reading Half Marathon on 22nd March 2026, before turning to the bigger challenges of the London Marathon on 26th April, and the Milton Keynes Marathon on 4th May.
Cllr Ahlawat said: “Maybe you’ve been cared for at the Royal Berkshire Hospital. Maybe someone you love has. I know I’ve seen first-hand the impact this hospital has on people every single day — and I wanted to give something back.
“The money that people have sponsored will make a real difference for someone being looked after at the Royal Berks, and I want to thank everyone who has donated.
“The support from friends, family, and the local community has been incredible, and I hope to raise even more awareness through this challenge. I would love this story to help inspire others to take on personal challenges while supporting important causes.”
