Families across Bracknell Forest will be invited to have their say on a new plan that will help make sure every child has access to the right education, in the right place, at the right time.
The proposed new education sufficiency strategy, called the right place for every child 2026–31, will be submitted to council following cabinet’s decision to approve the recommendation for a public consultation at its meeting on April 28.
Once approved, residents, parent carers, young people, and education partners will be invited to share their views on the strategy. This will help to shape how education provision across the borough continues to grow and adapt over the next 5 years.
The strategy sets out how the council will plan education provision from early years through to post‑16. It will make sure children and young people can learn and thrive close to home. It focuses on making the best use of existing schools while planning for changing demand and future needs.
The council’s commitment to inclusion is central to the strategy. It provides a clear framework for meeting statutory duties to make sure there are enough education places for all children and young people, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). It supports ambitious, flexible education provision that can respond to families’ needs now and in the future.
The strategy takes a long‑term view of education planning. It supports children at every stage of their journey and helping them access the settings that best support their learning, wellbeing and potential.

By planning ahead and working closely with schools, families and partners, we’re making sure children can access the education they need, as close to home as possible and in the right setting.
