WOKINGHAM residents can now hop inside a new upmarket establishment located in the premises of the now-closed Bar69.
Bringing London to Wokingham is the aim of its four new owners, who already manage Chalk restaurant on Broad Street.
The new bar is called Grasshopper.
“We have 21 cocktails, a range of espresso martinis, a good selection of gins and some very fine wines,” says one of the managers, Jacob.
“Local people chose the name, and we are absolutely buzzing about our opening night,” he says.
“Our bookings are looking great for this week, and we have exciting plans for the next few months.
“We’ll be starting a wine and cheese club, hosting wine parties, and having tasting sessions where people can try and then buy a bottle to take home.”
All the venue’s cheese and charcuterie products are UK sourced.
The bar also serves oysters freshly delivered from North Cornwall on Fridays, along with small plates, flatbreads, specialist meat plates and complex cheeses.
People wishing to try the new establishment will find Grasshopper in Rose Street, Wokingham.
