Biffa has completed its first month of waste and recycling collections in the borough
Nearly 418,000 waste, recycling and food waste collections have been completed during the company’s first month of its new waste and recycling contract with Wokingham Borough Council.
Since launching on June 1, crews have delivered services to households across the borough using a modern fleet of collection and street cleansing vehicles, supported by new technology and updated collection routes, says the council.
The waste firm’s first month has seen:
417,993 collections completed
75,565 households served
859 tonnes of recycling collected
713 tonnes of food waste collected
95 crew members delivering services across the borough
Wokingham Borough Council thanks residents for their support as the new service continues to settle in.
It adds that as the current hot weather continues, collection crews may start work earlier to help avoid the hottest part of the day.
Residents are asked to continue to put bins out the night before their collection day if possible, to help crews work safely and efficiently while temperatures remain high.
