CHARGES for the new council-owned Rose Street car park have been announced.
Wokingham Borough Council bought the former Marks & Spencer store late last year and, as part of the deal, they gained the car park which had formerly been under private control.
Like the former Rose Street car park which has been demolished to create the new Peach Place parade, it will be a two-hour only short-stay car park between 8am and 6pm.
It will cost 70p for one hour, £1.20 for two hours.
On Sundays, bank holidays and from 6pm to 8am, it will be £1 per night.
Overnight season tickets will cost £292 for a year and Rose Street residents will be able to use the car park from 6pm to 8am, Sundays and bank holidays if they have a valid permit.
The charges come into effect from Monday, January 22.
