WOKINGHAM MP Clive Jones has visited Bluebird Care to discuss the future of social care.

The care company, which serves Reading, Wokingham, Windsor, Maidenhead and Bracknell, welcomed the MP to its Twyford office to talk about social care challenges and the growing importance of community-based support services.

During the visit, Clive met with managing director Rebecca Hawkins and members of the Bluebird Care team to learn more about the organisation’s work supporting elderly and vulnerable people to remain safe and independent within their own homes.

The visit also provided an opportunity to discuss the wider pressures currently facing the adult social care sector, including workforce sustainability, continuity of care and the increasing demand for support within local communities.

Ms Hawkins said: “We were delighted to welcome Clive to our office and to have the opportunity to showcase the incredible work our team delivers every day across the community.

“It was encouraging to have positive and constructive discussions around the future of social care and the importance of supporting people to remain independent at home.”

Clive Jones said afterwards: “We were very impressed to see what you are doing, the innovations and support you are aiming to provide to your customers and the local community going forward.

“As we discussed, social care needs to be addressed nationally and it is something the Government is not currently doing.”

Bluebird Care continues to work closely with local partners, families and healthcare professionals to deliver care and support across the communities of Reading, Wokingham, Windsor, Maidenhead and Bracknell.
