PUPILS from a Crowthorne primary school enjoyed a day down on the farm.
Old Macdonald would have had a field day in the fields, as the Year 2 youngsters from Oaklands Infants School saw cows, chickens and pigs when they visited Rushall Farm in Bradfield.
And with an oink, oink here and a moo, moo there, they learnt more about the animals that are born on a farm, including some lambs that made their first appearance hours before the children arrived.
Afterwards, they learnt about food chains, how honeybees pollinate flowers and pond dipping.
A spokesperson for the school said: “All of the children had the opportunity to hold a lamb and we were lucky to see some lambs that had been born just before our arrival.
“We had a great day and the staff at Rushall farm were impressed with the children’s behaviour and knowledge.”
