EVERY STEP COUNTS: Make the most of Christmas, it's such a special time of year

Throughout the week there will be events every day for all ages highlighting the importance of well-being through a range of talks, storytelling, art, performance art, music, health and fitness, meditation, relaxation and discussions.

During the week of May 13-19, I will be releasing daily videos directly on Facebook that you can watch and interact with. They will be getting released early each morning before 8am.

The short videos will be awesome for you and to be honest if you engage every day then you will love them. I will be covering the following content for everyone:

  • 13th May – Why wellbeing?
  • 14th May – Fun and why we all need it
  • 15th May – Friendship and our need for connection
  • 16th May – Fear and the opportunities it brings
  • 17th May – Freedom and how you can get it
  • 18th May – Fitness and what could you do to get the ball moving
  • 19th May – The ultimate formula for success and the M.A.S.T.E.R.Y model could work for you.

Please, put those dates in your diary and watch and interact with the videos.

This week I would like to play a game with you and the game is called the A-Z game of making your life better. Going through the alphabet from A-Z, I am going to give you a tactic that fits my M.A.S.T.E.R.Y model giving you actionable steps that is one of the following:

M – Morning ritual based

A – Diet acknowledge based

S – State of Mind based

T – Training based

E – Environment based

R – Rest and recovery based

Y – You and inward focus based

Without further ado, here we go:

A – Associate with positive and driven people

B – Be grateful for all you have and reflect daily

C – Carry out daily breathing exercises

D – Do everything possible to increase your NEAT factor

E – Engage in communications, we need social interaction.

F – Find an accountability partner or group and work like crazy to boost each other’s lives.

G – Go long term over short term all day long

H – Health is your wealth… keep an eye on your investments and invest in worthy tasks.

I – If you want to get really lean then something has to give…you can’t have everything.

J – Just DO IT!! 80% of success is showing up.

K – Keep up to date with current affairs…they are always good conversation starters.

L – Limit time doing passive activities such as watching TV

M – Make sure you include REST in your training programme…it is essential

N – Nothing happens until you ask…start asking questions every day of your life

O – Opportunities come when you least expected, always be open to receive them

P – Prioritise and identify your top three priorities every morning before clutter takes over

Q – Quality over quantity

R – Release endorphins by conducting movement drills every morning… mobilise your body

S – Say something or do something nice for anyone every single day

T – Try to avoid electronics before bedtime… read a book or just relax doing something such as meditation

U – Utilise your time in this world. We are all on a timer going down every second

V – Vast improvements occur over time when actions are done consistently

W – Wake up one hour earlier to get s**t done

X – X-rays of your thoughts can’t be done yet but keeping a daily thoughts journal can help guide you for now

Y – You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with… who are you with right now and who do you see regularly?

Z – Zone of optimal performance is where it’s at. What areas of your life do you need to be more optimal at right now?

The A-Z game of making your life better, pretty fun right?

“Life is a puzzle, a riddle, a test, a mystery, a game — whatever challenge you wish to compare it to. Just remember, you’re not the only participant; no one person holds all the answers, the pieces, or the cards. The trick to success in this life is to accumulate teammates and not opponents.”

“Life is a game and you are the player. As you master the game, so you also create it.”

“A person who plays the game knowing he will win, doesn’t impress me as much as the person who plays the game even though he knows that he might lose.”

“Life is an opportunity, benefit from it. Life is beauty, admire it. Life is a dream, realise it. Life is a challenge, meet it. Life is a duty, complete it.

“Life is a game, play it. Life is a promise, fulfil it. Life is sorrow, overcome it. Life is a song, sing it.

“Life is a struggle, accept it. Life is a tragedy, confront it. Life is an adventure, dare it. Life is luck, make it.

“Life is too precious, do not destroy it. Life is life, fight for it.”

Boss this game this week and enjoy the process. I say to my clients all the time that “the goal is the journey and not the actual outcome”. Enjoy the process and enjoy the journey and all the positives and feedback it brings, and you will fulfil your potential.

You have it in YOU to be the best that you can possibly be… enjoy doing that.

See you next week, friend.
