A CONFERENCE exploring the impact of domestic abuse on children and the family is to be held next week.
The event has been organised by Kaleidoscopic UK, and will help attendees learn about all aspects and effects of abuse, and how educating others is key. It will take place at the FBC Centre from 10.30am to 2.30pm on Thursday, October 17.
There is a range of speakers confirmed for the event including Luke Hart, who co-authored the book Remembered Forever, which explores his experience of growing up with coercive control and emotional abuse, and the murder of his mum and sister by his father.
Also speaking are Rachel Condry, Associate Professor of Criminology at the University of Oxford and Lee Marks, former male domestic abuse worker and survivor.
Performing at the event will be Sounds like Women, who have released their new EP “Tell me Why” in collaboration with Kaleidoscopic Uk and Women’s Aid.
Sounds like Women aim to empower women and girls around the world through music projects, helping them in and through their own journeys.
