RESIDENTS are being invited to help shape the future of borough library services as Wokingham Borough Council develops a new strategy for library services across Wokingham Borough.
The council is asking residents to complete a survey and wants to hear their views.
Libraries are an important part of our communities, it says, and offer much more than books.
They provide places to learn, connect with others, access digital support and take part in activities for all ages.
As it plans for the future, councillors want to better understand: how residents use library services, what people value most, and what services should be prioritised in the years ahead.
Like many councils, Wokingham is facing financial pressures and needs to make sure library services continue to meet residents’ needs while making the best use of available resources.
No decisions have been made, it says, as it seeks views at this early stage to help shape a draft library strategy and the options that may be considered in future.
There will be another opportunity to comment when the draft strategy goes out for public consultation later this year.
Whether residents use library services regularly, occasionally or not at all, the council wants to hear from them.
The survey takes around five minutes to complete and closes on Sunday, August 23.
