A SHOPPING centre in neighbouring Bracknell will be full of the sound of music to celebrate its second birthday.
The Lexicon will hold its final summer prom on Saturday, coinciding exactly two years to the day that the centre opened its doors for good.
Five acts have been booked to perform in Bond Square from 3pm through to 7pm, including the
Bracknell & Wokingham Community Band, community choir Vocalese and the Supertonics Big Band.
Also performing will be string quartet City String Ensemble and ABBA tribute band, ABBA Stars UK.
And to celebrate the launch of a new Information Hub, the first 200 people to visit on Saturday will receive a free re-usable coffee cup. A further 800 cups will be available to purchase with a donation of £2 to The Lexicon’s Charity Fund.
Sue Boor, head of marketing at The Lexicon, says: “It’s been the most amazing two years and we wanted to mark it with something that everyone could enjoy. We are constantly looking for new ways to improve the experience at The Lexicon and we hope that the new coffee cup scheme and information hub will prove popular additions to the town centre.”
Cllr Marc Brunel-Walker, Executive Member for Economic Development and Regeneration, said: “It’s been a fabulous two years since The Lexicon launched and I hope that residents and visitors pop along on Saturday to hear the last of this summer’s proms, which will mark the day perfectly.”
