IT’S a date that’s lucky for some: and for Wokingham filmgoers, it will be the dawn of a new era for movies in the borough.
Everyman Cinemas is planning to call lights, camera and action on its new Elms Field boutique cinema on Friday, December 13 – the day after the horror movie that is the general election.
Don’t expect a flea pit with moth-eaten chairs and stale popcorn. The new picturehouse has a bar, lounge space and three screens.
The menu includes its special Spielburgers, as well as sundaes and cocktails.
In a statement, Crispin Lilly, CEO of Everyman Cinemas, said: “While Everyman has developed into a national brand over the last decade, the secret to our success has been creating unique venues on local high streets in the heart of towns and cities.
“With the care that we put into our teams, the food and drink offer, sofa seating and designing a discerning social space to enjoy before and after the film, we’re redefining what cinema means for our guests.
“We want to be a local hero for Wokingham audiences to indulge in a night at the cinema.”
