A tribute night to international Motown icon Marvin Gaye will be heard in Maidenhead next month.

Heavily rooted in RnB, Gospel, Junk, Jazz and Soul, Nate Simpson is gearing up to perform his own version of Marvin Gaye classics.

The local artist is promising to bring home some great memories, making music you just can’t sit still through.

And his tribute to the Grammy award-winning legend will include performances of soulful tunes including the popular track What’s Going On.

Nate has performed alongside the likes of internationally acclaimed jazz artist Julie Dexter on her UK/European tour.

He has also appeared at a host of festival gigs alongside the likes of Boy George, Corrine Bailey Rae, The Feeling, Jaguar Skills, Beverly Knight, Jessie J, Jamie Cullum and more.

Norden Farm’s kite festival will fly high

He has played at venues such as the Natural History Museum, Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club and Pizza Express Jazz Club and at festivals such as London Jazz Festival, BBC Radio 2 Cheltenham Jazz Festival and the 2012 Olympics.

And Nate’s career has also seen him perform in London’s West End version of Motown, the Founders’ own autobiographical hit Broadway musical at the Shaftesbury Theatre. He took on the roles of Berry Gordy and Marvin Gaye.

He has also built a name on the UK gospel scene performing alongside gospel veterans.

His rich musical background has seen him performing for royalty, live on British television competing to represent the UK for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2017.

The 2016 X Factor star made it to the final six boys on the ITV smash hit show. His mentor Nicole Scherzinger famously commented that as he opened his mouth ‘Jesus fell out’. In later rounds he earned himself a standing ovation by judges and audience at Wembley Arena.

Join Norden Farm for an evening with a 2016 X Factor contestant before he leaves for Paris to perform in The Lion King tour.

Nate Simpson Presents: A Night with Marvin, Prince of Soul is at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts on Saturday 15 June at 8pm. Tickets are £15. For more details, 01628 788997 or online at www.nordenfarm.org
