AN APPLICATION to build a home within Park Place Estate in Upper Culham was approved by councillors at a planning meeting held at Wokingham Borough Council’s offices on Wednesday, January 10.
Known as Strowdes, after Richard de la Strowde who created the estate in the mid 13th century, the home is intended to be a private family residence, along the lines of outline planning consent that had been granted in 2008.
It is in the parish of Wargrave.
The application was one of just two matters decided on by the planning committee at the meeting, the second was to look at plans to build the new Arborfield Relief Road.
Planning officers said that planning consent should be granted as long as the applicant completes a Section 106 requirement that links a number of ancillary applications to the main dwelling and ensures that any extant permissions that conflict with this application are not implemented.
Permission was granted unanimously.
