Wokingham families are invited to make magical summer memories this weekend as the ever-popular Ollie Young Foundation (OYF) Summer fun day makes its much-anticipated return.
Taking place this Sunday, August 9, at Cantley Park, from 11am until 4pm, the fun-packed extravaganza is the foundation’s biggest annual event.
It is held in memory of Wokingham boy Ollie Young, who tragically lost his life to a brain tumour just a day before his sixth birthday.
All funds raised on the day will go directly toward OYF’s ongoing mission to fund vital paediatric brain tumour research and support.
Organisers have promised plenty to keep all ages entertained. This year’s lineup features a live band, thrilling aerialist performances, circus skills, inflatables, and a free children’s play area conveniently located next to the licensed bar.
DJ Jason Lewis will be back on the decks to keep energy levels high throughout the afternoon, and visitors are encouraged to grab a snap at the cheeky seaside-themed photo board.
Foodies will be well catered for, with the famous OYF BBQ returning alongside an authentic Italian food truck and plenty of homemade cakes. Local makers and crafters will also be setting up shop, offering personalized gifts, jewellery, and handmade goods.
The foundation’s dedicated army of volunteers – affectionately known as the ‘Olliettes’ – will be running a wide range of games and stalls. The popular token system is back in action this year; tokens can be purchased on the day to use at all OYF-run stalls, the raffle, the bar, and the BBQ.
Entry to the Fun Day is completely free, with car parking available for £1 per vehicle.
