THE SPENCERS Wood repair cafe will be celebrating its first birthday on Sunday, May 14.
More than 300 residents have brought in 450 broken household items to be fixed by the group’s able team of volunteers at Spencers Wood Village Hall on Basingstoke Road.
Repairs are free, but donations are always welcome. The project has raised £2,500 for the venue, which is run by members of the community.
Visitors can watch and learn how their items are mended or enjoy refreshments next door in the Communi-Tea Room while waiting. A book swap also runs concurrently.
The monthly initiative provides both economical and environmental solutions to product waste.
The repair cafe takes place between 10am-1pm.
