COMMUTERS are facing chaos on the railways this morning after South Western Railway suspended services due to overrunning engineering works.
Delays are expected until 1.30pm today on the Reading to Ascot line, which affects trains stopping at Earley, Winnersh Triangle, Wokingham.
South Western Railway has said that the delays have been caused by an engineering train that has broken down.
“Until it can be moved no trains can pass through, on-site staff are working hard to get the train running and clear of the tracks,” reads a note on its website.
Trains scheduled to run between London Waterloo and Reading will only run between London Waterloo and Ascot.
To help commuters, tickets will be accepted on a range of bus services including the Lion 4/X4 routes, the park and ride route 500 between Reading and Winnersh Triangle.
There are replacement buses running from Reading to Ascot, while commuters may also prefer to take GWR services from Reading to London Paddington.
