ORGANISERS of Wokingham’s Poppy Appeal are appealing for help to ensure this year’s collection is a success.
Last year, generous residents from across the borough donated £57,000 to the annual event.
This time round, it is hoped that that impressive figure can be topped.
David Dunham said that there was a need for collectors to come forward for the appeal, which runs from Saturday, October 26 through to Remembrance Sunday, November 9.
He added: “We are also desperate for support in delivering the poppies and tins, to shops, offices etc in the Wokingham area.
“Last year in Wokingham we raised about £57,000 which is the best the Town has recorded, this year we would like to keep up this good work.
“The more support we have the better, whether it’s an individual, a group, local organisations we need all your help.”
